Let’s admit it. Valentine’s Day can be quite a stressful holiday for people who are alone. Wherever you go, there are hearts and other love symbols attacking you, and sometimes, when you don’t have your significant other yet, it just gets too much. Depending on your ways of coping with unpleasant situations, you want to either curl up, shout, cry, drink yourself under the table or shred all those annoying hearts into tiny little pieces, salt and burn those irritating shreds and bury them really deep in the ground… In a nutshell, the holiday might not be “hearts and fuzzies” for everyone and if you can’t cuddle with your partner, try to find at least a cuddly pet, pillow or anything else cuddly enough that will help you get through that day.

Our PotD for Monday is this little blue-eyed couple, a fairy and her dragon girl. I’m pretty sure the dragon is a girl because she uses the same hair dye as her human counterpart. I must say both of them are very photogenic and the dragon lady is definitely good at striking a pose. I guess the girl really knows how to train her dragon.

Green and black is one of my favorite color combinations so I couldn’t resist when I saw this. The artist calls the style “cybergoth” but I think even “steampunk” lovers might find it really appealing. It definitely has that factor X that made it worth for me to share it with the world. And because I see this design as a new, modern take on evergreen classics like witches or fantasy in general, I decided to do the same for the music. The vial with the green liquid in the girl’s hand made me think of Poison so the song is quite obvious but it’s a new, different cover by Tarja Turunen of the original song by Alice Cooper.

I think this song by Dragonforce. I think “crazy”. Have a look at the picture. I see a story there. The dragon surely doesn’t look like a friendly pet that could be tamed or defeated easily. Everything seems to be on its side, everything seems to play to its advantage – its size, its power, the fear that it raises. Facing and fighting such a creature does seem crazy and hopeless. And yet there’s always someone who is trying. Someone we consider crazy at first but brave in the end. The line between “crazy” and “brave” surely is damn thin at times. But that’s also the place where heroes are born.
