This week’s pick makes me think of the 80′s. Bright colors, slightly crazy, a lot of fun. Whips, taming… Well, you get the idea. And because the 80′s brought a lot of good music, too, let’s rock to:
Just because… *cracks whip* …it’s fun to tame someone’s heart.
Pick of the Week: January 02 – 08
We’ve decided to change our Pick of the Day to Pick of the Week as our schedules have gotten more busy recently. So from now on, we want to regularly feature only one design a week, with the possibility of random Picks of the Day whenever we find more designs worth posting throughout one week. You can keep submitting your designs of course.
This week’s design is this amazing vintage roses notepad. Who says that you have to write your ideas down on a plain slip of paper? The brilliance of your thoughts will definitely stand out even more when you record them on paper with a beautiful design. Be it amazing plans for your business or thoughtful lyrics like Poison’s:
Don’t be afraid to make bold plans for 2012!
This Vintage Peacock & Etchings design is a perfect pick for all the love birds who want to send out their wedding invitations in classy and elegant envelopes. After all, if you feel like taking the plunge, why not do it in style?
And remember, there are bound to be rainy days but you should just grit your teeth and say: “I won’t let go.”
This colorful intricate design deserves a very special piece of music – calm, peaceful, relaxing and just as delicate as the tulips. I present you this composition by Yiruma so that both your eyes and ears rest a little and enjoy the beauty that art brings us, be it a poster or a song.
This vintage poster made me think of Antonio and Italy.
I hear you asking: “Who’s Antonio?” Antonio Lucio Vivaldi of course. Italian composer. His Le quattro stagioni: La primavera or The Four Seasons: Spring is an amazing piece of music and it goes perfectly with today’s design. Flowers, birds… Immaculate spring atmosphere, don’t you think?
Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman was the first song that came to my mind when I was looking at this design.
Both the song and the artwork have that “retro” quality that’s hard to find these days. They bring you the feeling of “good ol’ times” when music and art were true, genuine, fun and damn good. Let’s all vote for pretty girls, great music and designs.
